NOS VOISINS CHAMPENOIS - CHAMPAGNE MARC HENNEQUIÈRE

In the south of the Champagne region, in the heart of the Sarce Valley in the Côte des Bar, the estate has built its reputation on producing champagnes of character with authenticity and passion, from plots of land located exclusively in the commune of Avirey-Lingey.
Passionate about winegrowing from an early age, Marc set up his own vineyard in 1980, at the age of 18. In 2000, when Marie-Nelly, his wife, moved to the estate, they took up champagne-making together. The couple carry out all the tasks, with the help of a labourer and seasonal workers. This small, close-knit team set about producing a champagne with a unique spirit that reflects the terroir.
The vineyard covers 3 hectares. The grape varieties - mainly pinot noir, chardonnay and pinot meunier - are grown on clay-limestone soil with Kimmeridgian deposits. The exposure of the slopes favours good ripening of the grapes.
The estate's trend is to produce confidential, refined cuvées, the result of the development of their winemaking methods.
The arrival of their daughter in the family business has encouraged them to promote their champagnes around the world.
