Les peurs alimentaires avec Arc Patrimoine & Culture
15h, 5-8€, gratuit moins de 12 ans. Conférence présentée par Jean Freney.
Human history is littered with cases of intoxication, intentional or otherwise, through the consumption of harmful substances that make the headlines: heavy metals and per-fluorinated agents, for example. Jean Freney analyses our behaviour towards food, which is as old as the human race itself. It's an exploration of our history, from the episode of poisoning quails in the Bible to the 'honey that drives you mad' that struck Greek soldiers during the March of the Ten Thousand (400 BC), from 1990 to the contamination of beef by the 'mad cow' epizootic to 2012 and the horsemeat scam that recently went to trial. These are just some of the unfortunate examples of fraudulent supply chains from meadow to plate.
