Local festivals
This festival takes place each year during the third saturday of March in Châtillon-sur-Seine to celebrate the arrival of spring and honour the Cremant of Burgundy. A colourful and musical day, the cooking pot tap festival combines the carnival of the town and wine festival.
Tastings are offered by the local wine growers. The float parade is composed of 500 cooking pots and containers shaken frenetically. This tradition dates back to the Vth century, in the time of the Burgundians.
It was said that the population once hit vigorously on cooking pots to drive away the winter and speed up the start of spring...
This fair-craft exhibition takes place on the last weekend of June in Châtillon-sur-Seine on the esplanade Cours-l'Abbé.
This is an unmissable event to discover and meet the freelancers, craftsmen, shopkeepers and associations of the Châtillonnais.
The culmination of these days is the regional contest of brown cows, a local and emblematic cattle breed. During this event you will see concerts and activities. A showcase for the local know-how !
Named "Truffle and Cremant, a treasure of the region" since 2016, the Truffle and Cremant market in Leuglay takes place on the first Sunday of December.
It is organised by the association "Truffe Cote-d'Orienne" in partnership with the house of the forest, the association "Accueil en Chatillonnais" and the Tourism Office of te Pays Chatllonnais. The market combines two key products of the Chatillonnais: the truffle and the Cremant.
This traditional celebration includes a gourmet market, tastings and conferences.
