Voyage Semur-Époisses

Let's follow in the footsteps of Emilie du Chatelet, the Lady of Cirey: we begin our journey with a visit to Semur (Sine Muros, meaning “old walls”), the capital of the Auxois region.
Take a journey through time and history among the narrow streets, fortifications, collegiate church, and keep of the upper town: a medieval city, surrounded on three sides by the steep-sided Armançon valley.
After a Burgundian meal, we remain in medieval times at the Château d'Epoisses, visiting a fortress that once had seven towers and a drawbridge.
This castle welcomed the Queen of the Franks, the Dukes of Burgundy, and Madame de Sévigné, neighbor and cousin of the camp master Roger de Bussy-Rabutin.
Before returning home, we will stop at the Mistral biscuit factory shop.
